Introduction
The PCG ISO 9001 scheme is designed to
enhance the reputations of member companies by enabling them to
demonstrate benchmark practice in the control and management of their
business processes through third party UKAS accredited certification to ISO9001 and ethical conduct before and after engagement through membership of the PCG ISO 9001 scheme.
How the scheme benefits you
As
a customer of a PCG ISO 9001 scheme member company you have the comfort of
knowing that your supplier is committed to the requirements of a
worldwide renowned quality management system in ISO9001 plus a code of ethics that goes beyond the basic requirements of ISO9001 and demonstrates a drive to operate ethically.
You and your company have the benefit of knowing that the commitments given to you in the Letter of Commitment
that you will receive from your supplier are backed by an obligatory
requirement for membership of the scheme. That means if the supplier
fails to live up to the commitments they can be expelled from the PCG ISO 9001 scheme. You have the right to report such concerns to the PCG ISO 9001
administration staff

Amongst the scheme's more detailed requirements are;
-
Determination and review of requirements related to the contract for service including delivery and post-delivery activities, and statutory and regulatory requirements related to the service.
-
Implementing effective arrangements for communicating service information, enquiries, and customer feedback, including customer complaints.
-
Plan and carry out service provision under controlled conditions including providing information that describes the service characteristics, use of work instructions, use of suitable equipment, performance monitoring, and release, delivery and post-delivery activities where applicable.
-
Exercising care with customer property including intellectual property while it is under the scheme member's control or use. If any customer property is lost, damaged or otherwise found to be unsuitable it shall be reported to the customer.
-
Scheme members are required to seek an acknowledgement from their end customers for receipt of the Quality Commitment. You are not making any obligation or commitment to the supplier by acknowledging the Quality Commitment. The commitments are purely from the supplier to you and your organisation. We therefore respectfully ask you to cooperate with our scheme members and acknowledge receipt of the Quality Commitment.
-
By cooperation and providing constructive feedback you can endorse the service performance you and your organisation require from the supplier and where appropriate define and agree actions to improve service performance.
The scheme members require customer satisfaction feedback to continually improve their services and service delivery. They are obligated to seek feedback periodically during a contract and at the end of a contract.
Feedback doesn't need to consume large amounts of your time and you may not even realise that the member is taking feedback for the purpose of continual improvement.
The feedback may take the form of a relatively informal conversation or it may involve a detailed review of deliverables, outcome, performance and contractual requirements. We encourage our scheme members to only request sufficient feedback as will be applicable to the complexity or length of the contract.
-
You can use the scheme to evidence your commitment to the quality principles of ISO9001 by using it to demonstrate commitment to Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationships. This might help your own registration.
-
You can promote the scheme to other suppliers and reap the benefits across your contractor supply chain.
You
can contact PCG ISO 9001 to find out more about the scheme, report you
satisfaction or appreciation of the scheme or a member, or to register
